Abstract Aim Nail bed injuries are the commonest paediatric hand injuries. Optimal management is essential to restoring form and function of nail fingertip, however high-level evidence injury lacking, leading large discrepancies in clinical practice. This paper evaluates 100 most cited papers analyses their study characteristics assess current research focus levels. Method A Web Science search was carried out using term “nail injury”. All article types were included, no language or publication date restrictions applied.
